Lauded by CNN as one of the “7 African music festivals you really have to see”, and most recently named as BBC’s Top African Festival, MTN Bushfire is Swaziland’s internationally acclaimed music & arts festival that celebrates creative expression whilst promoting social responsibility, stimulating the economy and drawing talent and tourists from across Africa and around the world.
Whilst MTN Bushfire is well-known for its diverse and exciting musical line-up, the festival has also always been acknowledged as a holistic experience that includes the arts, food, culture and family-centric activities.
In fact, MTN Bushfire is one of the few major festivals in Africa to welcome families with its safe and warm environment that includes an array of child friendly activities, arts and crafts, performances and safe spaces.
MTN Bushfire will take place from May 27th -29th 2016.
KIDSZONE
An adventurous space for young fire starters to ignite their budding flames, the family friendly Kidzone takes a WILD turn this year! Set in a blooming wilderness of succulents and outlandish trees, the WILD invites you to come and share in the ways of the untamed.
The Kidzone offers a family friendly program with an array of adventure filled activities aimed to promote nature conservation themes. Kids can indulge in wildlife tales in the African storytelling hut, get creative in the craft teepee, loop a beat in the music den or get their adrenaline pumping on the obstacle course. These and many more stimulating activities are on offer throughout the festival weekend.

HANDCRAFT & DESIGN MARKETPLACE
More than simply a market, The MTN Bushfire Handcraft & Design Marketplace is an experiential space where creative curiosity is inspired and revived. Within this space guests can explore the handicrafts and artworks of over 40 of the finest artisans and Swazi craft businesses.
With the selection of regional crafters designed to inspire creativity and exchange, the focus is on ethical craft and emerging local design. The Marketplace includes artisans and companies that showcase a wealth of contemporary African handmade products from organic farm produce to fashion to home. The Marketplace is an ethical consumer’s dream, with each company or artisan contributing in a positive way to the environment and their communities.
2016 will also see the inclusion of a visual art element introduced into the Marketplace with an art exhibition featuring local artists exploring contemporary issues.
GLOBAL FOOD VILLAGE
MTN Bushfire invites guests to spice up their festival experience with the MTN Bushfire Global Food Village. Presenting a tantalizing diversity of tastes, the space offers festival-goers an exploration of aromatic palates from around the world.
The food village offers a culturally diverse menu, with options for everyone from vegetarians to omnivores and everything in between. The array of food stalls will take guests on a journey of the senses from East Africa to Asia, the Middle East to the sea-shores of Mozambique and back to Swazi soil.
Exciting new additions to the menu this year are sure to keep tongues wagging! Kumnandzi La!
VIP CAMPING
Families looking for a more secure camping option can also book into the luxury camping option; Glamping is the ultimate travel experience that pairs outdoor adventure with modern creature comforts.
Set in an exclusive forest-like setting, the Gypsy Outpost campsite just removed from the festival venue, but within walking distance, provides a relaxed VIP experience in a campsite set-up. This package offers a private chill out zone, camping fees for 4 nights, breakfast daily, toilets and hot showers, private security, and a high-quality double tent with 2 stretcher beds with mattresses and bedding, side table, and lamp.
